Butterfield Homes built 1933


The benefactor of the Homes was Mr. Thomas Butterfield owner of Butterfield and Fraser Mill at Cottingley Bar which dealt with textiles.
He endowed the Homes with £2000 for the maintenance and upkeep of the properties. He also established trustees to help run them
The founder chairman of Cottingley Butterfield Homes was Mr. R Riddiough - a director of Cottingley Mills.
Wilsden and Cottingley Butterfield Homes remain under the local trusteeship of Wilsden and Cottingley members.
